Yaz has finally done it - the release of her album, "Life Begins" was on 17/11/07 and can be purchased online at www.cdbaby.com. Also available from Fully Fledged Productions is Yaz's Christmas EP and her 2-track single, "Cry For Freedom." The Christmas EP retails at £5 and the single at £3. Unfortunately, neither of these are available online but you can order any of them by sending a cheque made payable to "Fully Fledged Productions Limited" 2 Victoria House, 37 Bellcroft, Ladywood, Birmingham, UK.

The latest upload to the player is "Cry For Freedom" a song commissioned by the Three Continents - One History project (www.threecontinents.co.uk) to commemorate 2007 being the bi-centennial of the abolishment of the slave trade in Great Britain and its Commenwealth Territories. When initially asked to pen the ode, Yaz was undoubtedly thrilled and honoured to have been chosen to write the song but on such a poignant theme she was anxious as well - so much so that she had to modify her usual approach to song writing to manifest this one. "I had to do months of research to ensure that my lyrical content was factual and being a woman of African heritage it was very emotional discovering so many atrocities connected to the slave trade. It was somewhat disturbing having to read, imagine and repeat information over and over and being reminded of an inconceivable plight."
